A New Hero Rises Above the City.
When danger strikes from the shadows, only one man can soar high enough to stop it.
Super Eagle is here — and justice has wings.
Super Eagle
Early in 2008, the new Central American nation of Neuva Libre is anxious for growth. Alan Mayhew and his father Arthur meet with the Minister of Commerce to discuss their new factory. Alan, using his eagle-like vision, sees an assassin preparing to shoot at them with high-powered rifle. Slipping away, he changes into his alter ego: Super Eagle. Years ago, he had accidentally drunk a serum his father had been working on, an extract of eagle’s blood. It gave him many of the abilities of an eagle. Alan then created a costume and equipment enabling him to fly, and decided to use his powers to defend the weak. Flying over to the other building, Alan deals with the assassin. As he’s about to leave, he sees a car waiting in the street. Alan gets a good look at the driver, and sees two tickets on a plane leaving in an hour for New York. Later, Arthur searches airline records and finds two men flying to New York; their tickets bought by Globe-Corp.
Alan asks HEIDI to check ships’ registry for information on the “Ocean’s Quest,”
and analyze the formula. She determines that the ship is conducting research off the coast of Neuva Libre.
Alan flies down to investigate, and meets Linda Hart, the marine biologist, and her boyfriend Steve Cutter.
When Linda learns of Alan’s background – wealthy businessman preparing to build a factory in the country,
she wants nothing to do with him. That night, he sneaks onboard and finds paperwork indicating supplies
for the ship are coming through the city of Mariposa, a place the Minister mentioned as being controlled by
the rebels. He also sees the ship’s charts, and realizes the ship has been traveling over a broad area of the
Pacific. Traveling to Mariposa, Alan finds crates from GC and is almost killed in a government attack! A
huge battle ensues and the building is destroyed. Alan manages to retrieve a remnant of whatever was in
the crates. Back at his hotel room, Alan chats with Arthur and HEIDI, and scans the device. Between the
three of them, they realize it’s the trigger for a small nuclear bomb. GC is going to cause a tsunami to
devastate valuable lands so they can buy them up cheap and make a fortune. Alan decides to go out and
disarm the bombs. Arthur has his special boat flown down to him. Alan manages to deactivate one bomb,
but realizes he’s tripped a warning mechanism. So, he returns to the “Ocean’s Quest” and confronts Linda.
Steve and his men show up; it turns out she knows nothing of GC’s plan, Steve is their man. Linda and Alan
discover the truth: GC is planning more than just a tsunami. The placement of the bombs will open fissures
in the ocean floor, releasing lava, which will heat the ocean. The El Nino effect will be increased, thus
making global warming worse! The formula Alan found is designed to remove carbon from the atmosphere,
thus easing global warming. By making it worse, the company will insure the formula is needed for decades
to come, and they will make billions! A battle ensues, and Alan and Linda appear to perish. Steve and his
men leave to repair the nuke Alan deactivated. Linda leads Alan out to one of the bombs, and dives down
to disarm it. Just when they think they’re in the clear, Greg shows up and blackmails them into repairing it. If
they don’t do it, Kelly will kill Alan’s family. Once they’re done, Greg ties them up and leaves them to perish
with the blast. Alan, using his superior strength, snaps his ropes. Lacking tools, they decide to tow the nuke out of range, knowing it means their deaths. Greg, Steve and their men detect movement of the primary
nuke and go after Alan and Linda. They catch up to them and Linda fights back. Alan changes into Super
Eagle and joins the fray. The Ocean’s Quest is destroyed. Only Linda and Alan survive. Later, at the hospital,
Alan checks on Linda, then speaks with his father. Just how far up the GC corporate ladder did this plot go?
What else are they planning? Linda overhears them and has a look of wonder on her face. Just who is Alan?
Meanwhile, Alan draws a sketch of the man he saw. They make plans to go to visit GC, to try and figure out why they would want to kill the minister. Back home on Eagle Island, Alan goes to his secret lab and is greeted by his A.I. computer, H.E.I.D.I. He scans the picture he drew and has her do a search for the man. Alan and Arthur go to GC under the pretext of a business deal. Alan notices that the senior VP, Kelly Delaney, comes down a flight of stairs rather than use the elevator. She is very evasive, and denies GC has any interest in Neuva Libre. Later, Alan counts the number of floors in the building and compares it to the number on the elevator. Like many buildings, the elevator skips 13, but the building has a thirteenth floor.
That night, he returns and slips into the 13th floor to search for clues on what GC is really up to. He finds oceanographic charts of the Eastern Pacific, bills from the research vessel “Ocean’s Quest,” and part of a complex chemical formula. Greg Grimm, Chief of Security (the man Alan saw in the car) jumps him and they fight. Alan is thrown out a window, and flies off. At home, Alan and Arthur discuss what he found. What is GC up to? Arthur has discovered that the company has made its fortune in disaster relief, re-building and buying up devastated lands.
